Queensland Rail has recently announced a $200 million refurbishment plan for some of the South East’s most iconic stations

Eagle Junction Station is one of the stations to undergo a $10 million facelift “from the ground up”. The revamp will open the station up allowing for possible retail space and commenced in late 2011.

This project will upgrade and improve the infrastructure at Eagle Junction, providing commuters with better facilities and services. This will be the first major improvement to the station since it was built in 1962.

The scope of works will include the provision of a new ticketing office, additional platform shelters, station furniture, signage, security upgrade and platform resurfacing works.

The Eagle Junction upgrade is expected to be finished by mid to late 2012.
