25 Apr
Enjoy walking? One of Brisbane’s most successful walking groups, Walking For Pleasure, is about to celebrate its 23rd birthday. And what more appropriate way to celebrate than with a beautiful walk through Brisbane?
The event will be held on Tuesday 5th April, starting with a special morning tea at 9.30 in Orleigh Park Hill End, followed by an invigorating Celebration Walk at 10.00am through Orleigh Park and along the bike-path and heading towards the city finishing at the City Botanic Gardens.
The Walking for Pleasure program was started in 1988 and now runs over 600 walks per year. All walks are planned and led by a team of volunteer walk leaders. Joining a walking group is a great way to get and/or keep fit, day or evening while exploring Brisbane’s suburbs, natural bushland and heritage. Walks feature parks, creeks and rivers, boardwalks, bikeways and beaches, historical and heritage sites. New walkers are always welcome and you walk at your own fitness level.
